The deadwax is most likely of USA origin, Is the stamper numbers US CBS Style? If it is, then the pressing is superior here. Yes, we are all coping with the recent events here in the US and preparing for what is in store for us next year. Both Meles and I have been pretty busy with both professional and non-professional obligations, which is why activity on the blog has been pretty much nonexistent since the summer. We do plan on jump starting things again when time allows, but we do appreciate you coming back to our site from time to time. It sounds like you have been a very active listener -- you have definitely advanced in the composer alphabet since our last correspondence!

We wish you a very warm, safe, and enjoyable holiday and look forward to hearing more of your musical thoughts in the new year.

Sincerely,
Albertaqlamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14158533801520443218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578688126265821360.post-74822274818916801492016-11-29T10:53:06.087-05:002016-11-29T10:53:06.087-05:00Hi Folks,

Been a tumultuous...Hi Folks,

Are you all alright?

Been a tumultuous time in the States recently - eh?

The World is not in a better state now?

Your blog has not been active since June - what's up?

Me - still plodding through my vinyl collection. Now a good ways through the Schubert symphonies - currently all the ninths that I have on vinyl. The best so far is Rene Leibowitz with the Vienna State Opera Orchestra (?) on Westminster, but this might be pipped at the post by either the David Josefowitz or John Pritchard recordings which are fast approaching.

I try to listen to the differing recordings of the same piece of music in chronological date of recording (if I can find the recording date).

Thankfully I have a very limited amount of non-orchestral music, so once I have dispensed with the Schubert symphonies I will be quickly onto to those by Schumann - and thankfully then onto Shostakovitch and Sibelius (there is only so much classical period genre one can listen to at any moment in time) - should be my Christmas present when I get to all the symphonic music of Jean S.

Perhaps with a bit of luck I will be at the Strausses by New Year?

If no contact before 2017 - have an excellent Festive Season and may 2017 prove a more promising/positive/peaceful year than it appears to indicating at the moment.

All the very best - happy listening.

Cheers,

Douglas (UK)coppinsukhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03829442683551717407noreply@blogger.com
